This session will introduce participants to AZ Teach 21, an online course providing professional development for 750 Arizona classroom teachers supporting implementation of the 2009 Arizona Education Technology Standards. The session will also look at the course resources, including the Arizona Technology Integration Matrix, that features 50 videos and lessons modeling integration, and the Implementation Guide and Glossary.
An overview of the course will be provided along with more detailed information about each of the various components. Benefits for course participants will be discussed, including a stipend and noise-canceling earphones for those who complete the course.
If possible, this will be a team presentation, with one of the authors of each of the components present to provide detailed information to workshop attendees. The preview of the Integration Matrix will take participants through the matrix and sample some of the integration lessons and ideas for using the matrix. Review of the Implementation Guide will feature a brief look at a range of lessons and content included in the Guide, helping attendees understand potential applications of the Guide and Glossary. All resources are free and available to educators.
AZ Teach 21 was funded through 2010-2011 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds administered by the Arizona Department of Education and the office of the Pima County School Superintendent in response to the ARRA Enhancing Through Technology (EETT--Title IID) Ed Tech Standards Support Project.
Partners in the grant include Maricopa County Education Services Agency, Arizona K-12 Center, Arizona State University Applied Learning Technologies Institute (alt^I), Yavapai County Education Services Agency, Pinal County Education Services Agency and Arizona Technology in Education Association (AzTEA).
