The one hour Webinar will be designed for care providers in the early childhood field of education. The webinar will discuss ways in which early childhood providers can be more effective advocates for early childhood education and the children that are affected. The participants will discuss strategies to effective advocacy with their community and the public as a whole.

Bruce Liggett, Arizona Childcare Association, will be the featured speaker, assisted by ASSET Assoc. Director, Mark Becker.
Bruce Liggett has represented private, licensed proprietary and non-profit centers as the ACCA Executive Director since July 2003. Bruce has over 30 years experience in developing, operating, and advocating for human services and health programs.
He began his career working with juvenile offenders and children with developmental disabilities. Bruce managed local and statewide early intervention, vocational, residential, and professional support services for persons with developmental disabilities. He developed the first Policy, Planning and Evaluation office in the State's largest agency and coordinated the establishment of the State's long-term care system for the elderly and disabled.
Bruce created the Arizona Child Care Administration. While there, he significantly increased the number of children served as well as increasing payment amounts. The Administration also funded the state's first quality improvement grants. Later, he was the early care and education advocate for Children's Action Alliance and managed the Success by 6 and Smart Beginnings projects. Bruce has also served as the Deputy Director of the state human services agency and was responsible for public assistance, food stamps, medical eligibility, employment, child support enforcement, rehabilitation, and child care programs.
Bruce makes numerous presentations, has authored opinion articles, and is sought after by media for his perspective on issues. He has testified before a U.S. Senate, Labor and Human Resources Sub Committee on the status of Arizona's child care system.
Bruce is currently the Chair of Protecting Arizona's Family Coalition (PAFCO Advocacy). He received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University.
