Turning up the H.E.A.T.

Learn about the elements of H.E.A.T. (Higher-order thinking, Engagement, Authenticity, Technology use) and how to integrate them seamlessly and successfully in all learning activities to transform the traditional classroom. Experience lesson "make-overs," collaborate with colleagues, and get ready to turn up the H.E.A.T. in your classroom! Participants will:
Explore each element of H.E.A.T. and how it applies to the K-12 learning environment.
Observe and evaluate samples of student work and videos of classroom lessons to determine the existing level of H.E.A.T.
Explore web-based resources that can be used to raise the H.E.A.T. level in your own classroom.
Revise a current classroom activity to raise the H.E.A.T. level and provide a more meaningful learning experience for all students.
