FarewellISTE Mourns Passing of NECC Pioneer & Technology AdvocateDr. Sylvia Charp - NECC Pioneer, Editor of T.H.E. Journal, technology consultant and advocate - passed away in August 2003 at the age of 84. As Dr. Jan Van Dam, ISTE Board President, remembers, " Dr. Sylvia Charp was a role model for so many of us who carefully entered the world of educational technology in the 60s and 70s. She helped define the issues, provided support, communicated broadly, and for me personally, trail-blazed female leadership in the profession. She will be missed but never forgotten. Her legacy will live on in those who continue the work today and in the future. " |
